I got this item in a set at Christmas (2017), some of you will already know this because you have read my previous post which is linked just below. You may think why it took me so long to use it, but it is because I had to finish the predecessor and I am not good at remembering to put it on. If you haven’t already and you want to read the haul, click here:
I think the set I got was a brilliant deal, on its own the Origins Night-A-Mins is £39 (the same price as the entire box of four items). I was looking forward to using this product, I knew I already liked the day cream, so it was only fitting that I grabbed hold of this one to give it a go but after using it, I am not so sure if I am a fan. I am struggling to get through the pot. It isn’t a bad product; I just think it doesn’t suit my skin.
Origins products are full of natural ingredients which is one of the things I love about them, I don’t think it is overpriced, it comes in sensible sizes, and the packaging looks lovely, but there just isn’t much to not like. My favourite feature of this collection is its scent, absolutely in love with the scent. I am not joking when I say I open the pot sometimes just to get a good whiff of it. I was looking forward to it so much that I bought a second one before I tried it. In hindsight, not a good idea. I am currently on my third pot of the day cream but still working on the first of this Night-A-Minus one which I find a real shame. I wanted to like it so much. For me, if I use up a product, I do like it, if I am struggling to use it up, then it generally means I am not enjoying the product.
It is a very rich formula, which makes it ultra-hydrating and perfect for dry and angry skin. Which on paper means it should work wonders for me. Unfortunately, upon application it looks and feels greasy, I find myself washing it off because it just feels slimy. I am going to blame my skin though; it has always been picky about what it likes so maybe this just isn’t the night cream for me. I will keep looking, maybe try another Origins one. I do want to keep it and finish the pot as I don’t like wasting products, I have already given the second one I had to someone else. At the rate, I am going I’ll be using it on Christmas 2019. (I might give up before then). It shouldn’t take a year to get through one pot of face cream, right?
At this point, I am on the fence about repurchasing it. I would highly recommend giving it a go as it is such a lovely product, but I just don’t think it is worth the money for me. I might try it later down the link. Perhaps because it is so rich it would be better in the winter for me. I might purchase a smaller one and keep it in my collection for the times when my skin needs a little bit of a boost, but I will be on the hunt for another night cream for my everyday routine.
I have been struggling with my skin lately, I am having a breakout after breaking out. I am trying to wash my face more often to help but I think that is just encouraging more oil. If you have any tips, please do let me know, all are welcome. Also, let me know if you can give this one a go, I would be interested to know your thoughts. Or if you agree with me already, which one did you try next? If you do want to try, head to your local Origins counter (which can be found at John Lewis) and speak to the sales adviser. The one near me is helpful and informative.
