2449 Another one of those posts about Empties.

Good evening and welcome, or welcome back to those who are returning. I have no excuse, I just let my writing slide a bit (cough) a lot because I have quite a bit going on and I kept putting things off. A brief update for you. I started a new job. Which meant I had a lot of learning and meeting new people to do. Learning a new job, new people, new daily responsibilities, various codes for storerooms and getting in and out of the building, as well as training just left me feeling a bit brain fried. And my concentration just went straight out the window and off to Mars by 7 pm each night.

I am now getting a bit more confident within my role, knowing roughly what I should be doing and when it should be done by, it’s starting to just be my natural routine, instead of me having to think about anything. So, I am able to use my brain a bit more for other things.

On that note… if you hadn’t guessed by the title, I have some empty products to tell you about today. They are a little old and I haven’t got around to sharing them with you. Here goes nothing:

1. Aveeno Daily Moisturiser

2. Bath and Body Works Carried Away

3. Carmex Strawberry Laces Wipes

4. Origins Original Skin Retexturising Mask

5. Revlon Colourstay Foundation 110

6. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

7. The Body Shop Softening Body Milk – Moringa

I know it is a very strange group of products, like everyone in the world I decided to be on a mission to use all my beauty products during lockdown and I am still working on it. Don’t worry, anything with a risk of being spoiled/out of date I got rid of or gave to a friend to use before it spoiled.

Aveeno Daily Moisturiser

I will admit, the main reason I got this one is the packaging. You may already know if you don’t… I have an issue with my wrist which makes it difficult to get products out of the bottle/tube sometimes. I was having a particularly bad time so when I saw this product had a pump, I grabbed it.

Yes, it was a lot easier to get out of the bottle. Unfortunately, I found that it would dry in the pump quite quickly, so I constantly had to find a pin of some sort to pick out the dried cream. Granted I am terrible at remembering to use it every day, so this is my fault to some extent. But it did mean it was easier but not very convenient. It was a really lovely cream, I didn’t have any sort of reaction, it wasn’t overly greasy, and I didn’t find my clothes sticking to me at all. I would like to try it again and see if having a more regular routine solves the clogging-up of the pump issue. But I have a few others to use up first. (I have banned myself from buying anything until I am down to the last half a bottle of the ones I have). Oh, I almost forgot. I have no clue what I paid for it. However, it was likely to be on some sort of offer. I never pay full price for something I’ve not tried before. In Boots, you will get it for £7.99.

Bath and Body Works Carried Away

This is one I finished quite a while back. I remember enjoying the fragrance, but it wasn’t my favourite. Unfortunately, it is not the easiest thing to get your hands on in the UK. I would recommend having a look at eBay. That is where I have found them in the past. I have also heard that Next is starting to sell Bath and Body Works items, but I haven’t seen any in my local shop yet.

Carmex Strawberry Laces Wipes

Well, these caused quite a stir a few years ago. Before Rona, I did quite a bit of back and forth between my grandparent’s house and my home. So, I found it handy to have a packet of these on hand because you never know when a wet wipe would come in handy. Maybe you forgot to bring a clean top, so you need to do a spot clean, or you spill something, and you don’t have anywhere to wash your hands etc. So, I always had a couple of packs of these on standby. Slowly they got used up and as I haven’t done so much back and forth, I don’t purchase them anymore. There is no reason I went for these ones; it was probably on offer when I went to buy some more. I can’t fault them.

Origins Original Skin Retexturising Mask

LOVE LOVE and oh yeah LOVE this product. It is almost perfect for my skin. It has got a bit of a hefty price tag, but it is well worth the money. The only reason I haven’t repurchased it so far is because I have a bit of a backlog of face masks to use up. I am working on having fewer products to use up because they just expire and end up getting wasted. This is gentle so it would be good for sensitive skin (at least for me it’s okay), remember always check for allergens and if you have sensitive skin make sure you do a test first and seek medical attention straight away if you have any worries. I can’t wait to get my hands back on this product. It will be the first on the list when I run out of masks to use.

Revlon Colourstay Foundation 110

Now, this was my favourite foundation for a good long while. However, I couldn’t tell you the last time I used foundation. I pretty much just fill in my eyebrows, use eyeshadow for a bit of liner and then stick some sort of lip balm/ gloss on my lips. I will say this foundation does stick around well. But I found it would break up in my t-zone. But as I said, I haven’t tried it for a while so I should really get a new one and see what it is like now. The price is not bad for a decent foundation. I would repurchase this one and plan to when I end up needing or wanting a foundation again.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

This was my favourite for many years! I have small eyes, so I found the brush easy to get the small corners. I still enjoy this product but similar to the foundation… I don’t really wear mascara anymore. I have fallen into the trap of lash extensions. They are just a bit easier for me. You spend 30 seconds brushing them in the morning and you look wide awake.

The Body Shop Softening Body Milk – Moringa

Now, this one. I don’t think I would try again. It didn’t do much for me. I like the spray nozzle for ease and loved the idea but because I am terrible at remembering to apply it a light cream never makes a dent for me. This would be a great option for maybe guests to use after washing their hands but it’s not an everyday product for me. I do LOVE the scent though, so I was gutted I didn’t love this one.

That brings us to the end of my empty products. I do apologise I didn’t go into much detail with these ones but I either didn’t really love them or used them a fair time ago and don’t have much memory of them. I need to get better about noting my thoughts on products. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and keep those eyes peeled as I feel I am finally getting closer to being more on track with these posts.

Unexpected things keep coming up but I am not getting back on top of life so I should be able to get back into a routine and shouldn’t be thrown to much but the unexpected. Thanks for taking the time to read.
