922 The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream

I picked this one up by accident. I was looking around the shop on a lunch break because I find sitting down doing nothing is very boring and I get very impatient, I don’t work there anymore so I don’t get to go to the Body Shop as often. I believe this was in the sale section or the last chance area (TIP: Last chance doesn’t mean cheap; it is usually the end-of-line items). I haven’t seen this one since which is a shame because I did like it.

I wasn’t 100% sure what it was but it was silly money so I thought I would give it a go; you can’t pass up a bargain, can you? Even if you end up not liking it, I will rather pay a sale price for something to not like instead of full price, in fact, I rarely pay full price for something first try.

The only thing I can find that is remotely like this product now is The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream. I did not pay £13 for the pot I got (I paid £2 I think) it must have been an end-of-line product or a sample/travel-sized product. If anyone knows please feel free to leave a comment or let me know on my contact page which can be found in the menu near the top of the page.

I know they altered their packaging around the time I bought this so that could also be a reason why I got the little pot so cheap. The truth is, I don’t know so I am going to stop trying to make up stories.

I enjoyed this product; the gel formula is my favourite when it comes to creams of any kind. They are just so light and cool on the skin. If you have sensitive skin, it will often be a bit red and bothered if you use a face wash, exfoliant or makeup remover so the cooling factors are nice for me. All you must do is touch my skin for it to go red. I will often get people asking me “Oh, what have you done, your neck” being genuinely concerned which is lovely but my answer is typical. “Oh, I was just scratching or moving my necklace”.

This cream is very light on the skin, I hate heavy or rich creams; they just clog pores, and you can feel it sitting on your skin which removes the relaxing feeling of relaxation. I don’t mind a rich cream for overnight but even then, it can end up all over your pillow and then in turn in your hair if you move or fidget like me. I usually end up wiping most of the cream off my face before I go to bed to eliminate the gross pillow situation.

If you can find the newer version of it, I would highly recommend giving it a go, I didn’t see any striking long-term benefits, but I only had a small amount of the product to play with. You won’t know the long-term benefits until you use it for a long period which is only possible if you get a bigger pot of multiple small pots.

I can see myself hunting the newer version of this down but right now I have too many products that I want to use up first. I am a bit of a collector when it comes to products, I typically buy things when they are on a deal and end up with too many so I am slowly backing off and trying to only have one of each item (until it comes to the product is running out then I will keep an eye out for a good deal).
