401 The Body Shop Haul

Shortly after Christmas, I ignored my rules of not buying any more creams or any beauty items until I had finished the ones I have already. I may have bought some more, but I believe the one I got was a Christmas collection, so I didn’t want to miss out because I loved the scent too much. I admit this is a rubbish excuse but at least it will all get used.

I do love the body shop products; they are on the expensive side for what they are really. I mean you can pick up a shower gel for £1 in most shops and The Body Shops one is at least £5, depending on which size you get. I like to wait until my local shop has offered.

They often do a deal that the more you buy the more money you get off. I have gone in there and spent £50 but when I got to the till it was only £28. So, it was roughly 40% off. Yes, it does the job of getting you to buy more than you went in for but with items such as theirs, you never have to throw it away.

The items I picked up are:

• Satsuma Shower Gel 750ml

• Satsuma Body Butter 200ml

• Satsuma Body Butter 50ml

I always pick up their 30ml hand creams because they are perfect to go in your handbag. I try to keep one on my desk at home and work. They usually have packs made up in the shop of four or five, so I picked that up. If I can’t see them, I just pick a couple at the till point.

I picked 6 this time because I was on stock-up, and I found a scent I didn’t want to run out of, so I got two of them. Usually, I only pick up a couple but this time I picked up a few.

I did give one to my mum because she wanted one, (I usually pick one for her as she is guaranteed to want one. I didn’t mean to get six, but I couldn’t find the one I wanted until I got to the till, so I grabbed two. With the deal, I got all 6 hand creams free of charge. The amount of discount I got amounted to more than what this cost so that was a huge result. Let me know if they do that deal near you, or if it is just the one near me. It is in an outlet centre, so that could be why.

Satsuma Shower Gel 750ml

Now, I didn’t need a shower gel as I already have a couple to get through, but these are so worth it because the smell is nice, the actual shower gel is nice, it lathers up well and the size with the pump is just perfect. I have only tried the Strawberry one so far as I had never smelt the others so when I learnt of this scent, I had to pick it up and everything in the same scent as you will see further down. Does anyone know if this is just a Christmas scent? I haven’t always been a Body Shop person but since I worked near one, it was something to do on my lunch break. I am excited to try this shower gel, but I must use up a couple first, I still have a strawberry one on the go, it is almost finished. I like to use them in order as they can go out of date, but it is usually 24 months down the line and only once you have opened it. Check the information on each item. I have got a backlog of shower gels again at the minute which I am getting through.

Moringa Softening Body Milk 250ml

This is the next item I picked up; I already use the body butter in this scent so when I saw this, I thought I would give it a go. I am not 100% sure what this is, I am guessing it is just a moisturiser, but I like the scent and I thought a spray bottle is just genius. It makes it so easy to apply. You don’t have to mess around trying to screw the lid back on or have the lid fly out of your hands because you put the cream on.

I am intrigued to see how this works because I have never seen body milk before. If it dries quicker than the body butter it might be a winner for me, so I am also excited to try this out. I am impatient so I must be able to get on after I use the cream. The review is to follow but I have got a few things to use first. I am currently using the large pot of body butter in this scent so I might take this to my Grandparent’s house this can stay here and get used while I am here, so I am using both at the same time. It also saves me carrying back and forth every week which is a bonus.

Satsuma Energising Gel-Lotion 250 ml and Satsuma Gel-Lotion 60 ml

Now I picked this up just because I liked the scent so I just grabbed everything I could see with the scent on it. I went to The Body Shop a few weeks before this visit and they didn’t have much in this scent. I even got a very helpful employee to go into the storeroom and get me something in the satsuma scent because I am crazy, I usually don’t like to get them to check. I know that is what they are there for, but I hate to give them more work. I used to work in a shop, and I always hated going into the stock room for customers, but she only took a couple of seconds, and she was more than happy to go and check, so if you are reading, Thank you.

Every so often I go away to my aunties for the night, or I stay with my sister or my grandparents, so I picked up the mini gel lotion to pop in my overnight bag when needed. Items like this are handy to have on hand because travel items are so expensive for what they are. I usually prefer to decant things into containers instead of buying the travel versions, but it was free with the money I got off, so I didn’t mind too much. Also, if it is a scent and product that you like and you know you will use, they are always good to pop in your basket.

Satsuma Body Butter 200ml and Satsuma Body Butter 50ml

Again, grabbed it because of the scent, although all these bits are going to last me a while, I hope the satsuma scent either stays in The Body Shop or it returns every so often. It just smells amazing; if you get a chance, give it a sniff. It is fresh and energising, perfect for when you are getting out of the shower or bath in the morning. And of course, if I am getting the satsuma body butter, I had to get the small version for purses or a weekend away. This is also a perfect size to take on as hand luggage if you travel a lot. It is not big clunky packaging either.

I will admit, I didn’t need this item. It was an impulse buy but I think if I like the scent, I am more likely to use it. All the body butter at The Body Shop comes in various sizes, I got the 200ml and the 50ml. I think you can get a 4 or 5 hundred tub as well.
