1566 Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream Review

Can you believe 2020 is over? I can and I am happy to move forward. However, I have been looking at previous posts as I am working hard to improve my writing. Looking back, I come to realise that I have taken to explaining how and when I got a product in my reviews. Do you enjoy this? Or do you agree that it isn’t needed? I like to mention when it was a gift as the person deserves the credit. I got this in one of the Christmas gifting sets. The little products are handy for weekend or overnight trips (even though they are not happening a lot now).

If you have read my recent posts, you will know that I am trying to cut down on my products. I might have bought the full version of this product and I’m not going to lie; did I need it… nope, did I want it… yep. I have done well in using up the products I have got and not buying new ones, for the most part, it was time to treat myself, don’t you think? That is something I always push when you set yourself a goal and you stick to it, make sure you pat yourself on the back. It is well deserved.

To be honest, I have never been super into Soap and Glory; it was expensive for me growing up. In recent years as I started working, I decided to branch out and try the more expensive brands that I have been looking at. I don’t always think expensive is better, I am more about the quality and what works for me. I have slowly over the years bought a couple of the Soap and Glory bits and they are better than I thought.

With I must admit that I didn’t have high hopes for this product. I thought it would just be a standard body butter with a fancy name and a nice smell. But once I used up the one, I was so in love with the product that I wanted to buy another one which is rare for me. I often enjoy a product enough that I will repurchase but this one made me want to go straight to the shops and purchase the full-sized version.

As it was lockdown in the UK, I was going to have to order it online, I was reluctant to check the website at first in case this range was just a Christmas special. As it came in the Christmas gifting set, I was convinced that you could only buy it in the gift set at Christmas. I bet you can imagine how happy I was to discover that Soap and Glory produce this range throughout the year, only the full-sized versions. If you want a small one you will have to wait for Christmas.

Anyway, I am happy to say, I was 100% wrong when it comes to this product. Okay, it is not the cheapest body butter you can find but I do love it. It sparked up something as I used the whole 50ml over about 2 weeks. My love for this product is most likely down to the scent, it is gorgeous, citrusy, fruity, fresh, and all the things I want in a cream. I might even be so bold as to say it is my favourite. I do seem to favour citrus-smelling products. I love Origins, The Body Shop satsuma range etc. Had I discovered the sugar crush scent 5 years ago I probably would still be using it now.

If you are like me and a lover of citrus scents, I highly recommend this one to you. You will be in your element! I usually go for orange scents, like the Satsuma range from The Body Shop but this body butter is more of a sharp scent, a bit like limes.

Now on to the cream, it is a very rich and creamy formula which is perfect for dry skin, particularly heels, knees, and elbows. I will say after three days of using this the hard itchy skin on my elbows was no longer. Works after 3 applications, impressive, isn’t it?

Looking at the ingredients there is no wonder it is a good cream, it got cocoa butter, shea, coconut oil, lime oil, and lime tree blossom extract. If that’s not moisturising, I don’t know what is. It is going to be stiff competition between this one and The Body Shop body butter, I think this might be my favourite scent, but it is a close call. I like the quirky part of the name with Soap and Glory, it isn’t just body butter, it is body buttercream. It makes it different and unique which is something I look for when I am purchasing things.

If anyone wishes to try it out or purchase this product, head to your local Boots store. Alternatively, if you are stuck inside here is the link to Boots. I am pretty sure it is on a 3 for 2 now.
