I am not 100% sure why but I seem to have mastered the ability to use up many products in a short amount of time. As soon as I organise an empty product post it seems I have another bag to talk about (it is sitting half full as I am typing this up).
Although I suppose it is my fault because I am trying to use up things to create space. It is great for you as my readers, I mean you get to see all the products I have been enjoying. I am trying to not replace all of them, and only keep one or two of each type of product. If you have been reading for a while, you will know how long I have been working on using up the products, I have done quite well so far. I have slowed down a bit, but I will tell you why in my next update.
Right, shall we get into the products? I have nine in total today. They are all random items if I am honest. Usually, if there is enough, I will split it somehow but here goes anyway:
Right Guard Women Total Defence 5
No 7 Loose Powder – Translucent
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Mascara
Tesco Fred & Flo Fragrance-Free Wipes
Zoella Milky Way Bath – Bath Milk Powder
Cussons Mum & Me Baby Shampoo
Right Guard Women Total Defence 5
I can’t remember not using this deodorant, I did use others but none of them stuck out to me. I like the big size because it lasts forever, some of the small ones last a week or so and you are buying them again. I try to pick multiple up whenever it is on offer as it is not the cheapest (it does balance out in size though). I don’t think I have had to pay full price as soon as I start using my spare, I keep an eye out for the offers. It is always worth checking your local Savers shop because it is usually around £1.50. There is not too much to say about a deodorant, it works well for me.
I tend to use a body mist or perfume, so I am not bothered if my deodorant has a scent or not. I do want to try roll-ons, but they seem to be more effort to me. I do want to switch to the roll-on ones though. They take up less space, are good for travelling and they are better for the environment.
No 7 Loose Powder – Translucent
I bought this product by accident if I am honest with you. I wanted to try two products by No7, and it was on a buy 3 type offer, so I ended up picking this one. I will often switch to pressed powder when I am travelling because it is smaller in packaging and is mostly easier to use. I mean have you ever opened a new loose powder over a black pair of jeans? Would not want that to happen in a hotel room and not have the opportunity to wash the carpet or my clothes. However, this No7 loose powder has become my staple powder in my daily makeup routine. In the few, I have tried this packaging is bulky but easy as you haven’t got to try to pop the lid off. I don’t know about you but when you pull a lid off anything you tend to jolt or shake the product even a little bit which usually results in your hand and things around getting a little powdered. With the screw lid, it is easier to control the powder (unless you drop it, which I have done). It does come with a good quality soft sponge to apply the product. The only thing I would improve is to make it travel-friendly or make a travel version of it. It is quite a big pot which is why I tend to leave it behind when I am travelling.
There are a couple of shades, but I always get the translucent powder because I am ridiculously pale. As always, here is the link if you would like to give it a go. The price isn’t too bad either because it lasts a long time.
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Mascara
I think I bought this product when I was younger because I don’t remember buying it. You know the products you buy and use a couple of times decide you prefer another one, so it goes in your draw as a backup? It became one of those (I do not recommend doing this because the product will go out of date, and you don’t want that on your face). Recently I decided it was time to give this one the boot because I have had it for too long. I can’t see myself buying it again but never say never. Mascara is all about finding the wand that works for you, formulas are not extremely different as far as I know. I mean it is effectively painting your eyelashes how different can they be?
I don’t remember it being a bad product; the colour is nice, and the wand is good it just didn’t work for me. This might be the one that I always ended up getting on my eyelids and under my eyes. Maybe with a bit of practice, I could have gotten better at applying this one. I need to use up the ones I have before I even dream about buying this one again.
Tesco Fred & Flo Fragrance-Free Wipes
Right, if you have read my previous empties post you will have probably come across this one before. I live by these; I was never able to use makeup remover wipes. They always seemed to disagree with me. After a lot of thinking and looking into it, baby wipes have fewer chemicals in them because they are safe for a baby bum. They are also convenient to have around the house for multiple things. There is a price benefit as well, makeup wipes can be extortionate, but you can get 3 packets of baby wipes for less than £2 most of the time. My tip is to always look for fragrance-free wipes. I am trying to move over to using cotton and makeup remover because it is a little kinder to your skin and better for the environment, but wipes are a hard habit to kick.
Zoella Milky Way Bath – Bath Milk Powder
I am particularly late to the party for this product. I always meant to try Zoella products, but I always looked at the price and nothing stood out to me. I have a bulletproof test when it comes to buying things. If I look at the price and my immediate reaction is that is a lot, then I don’t love the item but if I see the price and start working out if I have got enough, I know I want it.
What I have heard and seen of the products they seemed great, but I never felt the urge to buy them. I am a bit tight when it comes to trying new products, I don’t like to pay full price in case I don’t like them. I try to wait for the sale, or I just don’t buy them. I try to use many brands, I don’t like to stick to just one, I am not against it, but I have never found one brand that I like all the products in. I have always wanted to do a full makeup look or skincare routine with one brand but have not gotten there yet.
I have no clue if Zoella’s products are staying on the shelves or if they are a ‘sell it until it’s gone’ type scenario. You may or may be able to find this product in the shops.
Cussons Mum & Me Baby Shampoo
If you know me you will know I use baby shampoo to wash my makeup brushes because it is gentle, has no chemicals, no nasty ingredients, is allergen-free etc (please check all ingredients before purchase!). I believe most brands make it so that it doesn’t sting as much if you get it in your eyes which makes me happier using it to wash brushes that touch my face. If you haven’t had shampoo in your eye, you cannot understand how painful it is, that alone would put you off using an average everyday shampoo on your makeup brushes that go on your face and near those ever-so-precious eyes. I will not repurchase this one because I have found one that I prefer, I tend to just look at the deals, check the ingredients and grab the one that is convenient at the time of purchase.
