To give you a little background, exfoliating has always been something that I was quick to leave out of my skincare routine. I had only found one product that I liked in that department and of course, it was one of the higher-end brands which meant it was on the expensive side of face scrubs. It also means… I have never repurchased it.
But, as I have been trying to use up the products I have got at home, a face scrub/exfoliator was the first thing that I ran out of. This one happened to be on offer, so I grabbed it.
I will say, finding a good exfoliator that is good for your skin, good for the environment, and that works with your skin are a tall order. A lot of the cheaper ones you find can be harmful to your skin. If the beads or seeds are sharp, they can cut or damage your skin which is not the effect we want. But if they are perfectly rounded plastic pieces that are not good to go into our water systems or the wildlife that lives within those environments.
I try to find exfoliators that use natural exfoliating ingredients sugar as sugar, salt, seeds etc. I know Oriflame aim to use as many natural ingredients as possible so as mentioned… I purchased this one. I believe I got it on a new product crazy discount at £4/£5. The full price is £12. So, in the middle of the price pool. Not cheap, but not quite up there with brands such as Clinique or Clarins etc.
I do enjoy this product, and I am pretty sure I will be repurchasing. I do have a couple to use up first. For me, the packaging is very important. I struggle with one of my wrists/hands. During a flare-up I struggle to open things like crisp packets, toothpaste etc so having a bottle that is secure but easy to open is key in my routine. That is something I like about this product, it’s a nice size, great to travel, and the tube is easy to handle and easy to open. I can’t say I have struggled to open it once.
Straight after use, your skin feels fresh, clean, and plump. I often mix a little of this with my Cetaphil gentle cleanser which works. The face scrub is a bit thicker, so it blends in together well and it means you only rub your skin once instead of twice.
There are two exfoliating ingredients in this product, you have almond shell granules and lactic acid. I haven’t had any reactions, redness etc with using this. It hasn’t stung when I’ve had the odd cut or bit of acne. I have recently fallen out of using it as regularly then I had been. I am working on getting back into a routine.
Exfoliating is a very important part of your skincare; it gets rid of any dry or dead skin cells allowing your new skin to breathe and glow.
Overall, I have enjoyed this product, I will repurchase it, I recommend this to everyone. I have oily skin and it worked well for me.
