Do you have a pot of cream? I know I have 3 or 4. But did you know that is one of the worst ways to keep your products? It could be the cause of a breakout! Here’s why…
When you use a pot of cream washing your hands before use doesn’t really come to mind at all, right? So, nine times out of ten anything that is on your hands, food and or germs etc can end up in your cream, possibly even breeding depending on what is it that transfers. Then you think nothing of it and smear it over your face or the place of choice.
You can buy a clean plastic tube in which you can transfer the cream if you would prefer to do so. Whenever I buy something in a pot, I decant it into a tube or use a clean disposable spatula to remove it.
It just so happens that someone bought a pot of cream and after a few weeks of using it she discovered that it was helping her skin in fact making her skin a lot worse than it should be which is not what should be happening. So, after calling the company they asked her to send the pot of cream in for testing.
A couple of weeks later she received a call from the company. After testing the cream in the lab, they found that it contained cheese particles. How did that get there? She must have been eating cheese and then put the cream on without washing her hands therefore the cheese was left in the cream pot and smeared across her face each time she used the cream.
So, my advice is – wash your hands before touching your face, if possible, buy tubes and if you think you have been using a cream with the dirt of some kind on your hands maybe get rid of the top bit or if it is nearly finished purchase a new one.
