It seems my empties draw has built up again. If you are not sure what I mean, well, let me just explain a little bit. As a writer and a beauty product interest, when products get used up, I keep the empty packaging to reflect on them, tell you about them, if I liked them or not etc. I also point out anything that stood out to me about each product. I would describe it as short reviews on each one, I prefer to read empties because once a product is completely used up you know someone’s opinion has been properly tested. As I have accumulated such many used-up products I have split it into three sections so look out for part 2 and part 3.
Does anyone else experience this, you feel like you have been using products forever and then suddenly, they run out at the same time. This is pretty much what happened to me, you may know I am working on getting products used up, so I guess I asked for it.
This time, it is a mixture of items from hair to makeup.
Here are the items I will be talking about today,
Bourjois Nail Varnish – Mint Green Colour
Bourjois Nail Varnish – Pale Pink
MaXfactor Nail Varnish
Essie Matte Topcoat
Barry M Cappuccino Nail Varnish
Bourjois Nail Varnish – Mint Green Colour and Pale Pink
I don’t remember purchasing these nail varnishes. I think I got it as part of a 3-for-2 deal, they are both gorgeous colours. You must do 3/4 coats to get a nice solid colour otherwise you can see straight through the varnish. This isn’t the end of the world, and there are bigger problems in the world. However, this makes it a bad choice if you are in a rush, or you are impatient. I can’t remember how much it was, I think it is £5.99 but I couldn’t find them online to check. I got mine in my local Superdrug store.
The hard question for me now is if I want to repurchase it. I like the nail varnish, but it did dry after the first couple of uses. I don’t know if it was something it did but both colours did the same which was a bit upsetting. Maybe once I have used up some of my other ones, I will pick up these again, but I am not going to rush out and buy them now. Let me know if you have tried this and if it was because I did something wrong. I couldn’t find the pale mint green colour, but I did find the pale pink if you want to check it out.
MaXfactor Nail Varnish – Cappuccino
This came in a gift that I got for Christmas; it was a very close replacement to one of my favourites by Barry M also called Cappuccino. It was very small for the price of the nail varnish, but the colour is amazing. This would be perfect for travelling. I did think because the pot was so small that the brush would be a bit small, but it wasn’t bad. I am hoping they still sell this when I do go to get it again, I will be repurchasing it, but I want to use up a few of the ones I have now. I have around 50 which is a bit over the top. If you want to get your hands on this colour and I do recommend you try it out, head to your £4.99.
Essie Matte Topcoat
I am not sure if it is still a trend now, but a year or so ago matte nail varnish become popular. I went to a beauty show with my friend and I asked at the Essie counter if they had any matte shades. The lovely lady said no but we do have this and handed me the topcoat. This topcoat changes any nail varnish to Matte which is very cool. Sadly, it has now dried, and I am due to buy myself another one. I think I got it half-price at the beauty show, but you can pick it up online at Superdrug for £8.99.
Barry M Cappuccino Nail Varnish
As I have mentioned above, this is one of my favourite nail varnishes ever. I don’t remember buying this so maybe it was a gift. I had a phase a couple of years ago where I wanted most of the Barry M Nail Varnish collection. I just found that they were a great option and not a bad price. This one was between £1.99 and £3.99. They had a basic range which was the lower prices and the ones with effects or extra shiny were a pound more. Unfortunately, I believe this colour has been discontinued so it breaks my heart to accept that this is goodbye (please note, this is an exaggeration). Please, if you see this in the shops or online let me know immediately, I will be buying at least 5, as this colour complemented my complexion effortlessly.
