You are probably aware, that Christmas is fast approaching. As a Lush lover, I can’t pass up the opportunity to purchase a few of their festive items. I bought 6 products in total this time, mostly from the Christmas range but there are two that are from the winter line, not the Christmas collection. The six items are:
Shoot For the Stars Bath Bomb
Yog Nog Yule Log Bubble Bar
Cheery Christmas Bath Bomb
Star Light Star Bright Bath Melt
The Olive Branch Bath Bomb
Marshmallow World Bath Bomb
Shoot For the Stars Bath Bomb
This one cost me £4.95 which is the average for Lush’s bath bombs these days. Lush is popular but the price of being a fan is steep. Their products are very high quality and I would NEVER think twice about using a product, but the price is high. It is a shame because they are making a profit but if they lowered the price, they would make the same profit as they would sell more products.
Anyway, this is a 2-in-1 product, so you are getting more bang for your buck which this time of year is very important. The stars you see are mini bath melts, in this instance, it is cocoa butter. If you do not know how good cocoa butter is for your skin, you are seriously living under a rock. The colour looks amazing, such a vibrant beautiful blue. I seem to be attracted to anything with blue in it, it just calls my name and I can’t wait.
I think this is a great winter bath bomb; the combined cocoa butter and coconut cream will give you the moisturising quality a new high. I believe I purchased this last year as well, but I don’t remember what I thought of it. I had a sneaky look at last year’s post and this one was cheaper which is disappointing. If you would like to check out what I got last year, I’ll leave the link below. If you would like to check this one out, click the link below.
Yog Nog Yule Log Bubble Bar
Unfortunately, I was on the fence about purchasing this one, it doesn’t seem like one I would enjoy. I did want to try a Christmas bubble bar, so I thought I would go for it anyway as the other ones were a bit big and expensive. Everything at Lush during the winter months is so moisturising or based on moisturising ingredients such as cocoa butter.
A review on the Lush website says you can get between 4 and 6 baths out of this product, so it would out roughly £1 per bath which is still expensive for a bubble bar but nice. One of the ingredients in this bubble bar is Clove Bud Oil, which is good for circulation and I suspect it is good for keeping you warm over the winter period. From the ingredients, I think this will have a winter smell with cinnamon and nutmeg. Just imagine, a winter evening, it is dark and rainy, there is a chill in the air and you sitting in a hot bubble bath enjoying a nice relaxing hot chocolate. If you want to give it a go, click the link below.
Cheery Christmas Bath Bomb
How cute! In general, I am not a huge fan of pink I tend to steer clear of it if I can. However, the cuteness of this bath bomb won me over. I might have been sold on the price as well as it is only £3.95, low for a Lush bath bomb. Over a couple of years of using Lush, I have noticed that I am drawn to citrus products. This one has a bit of lemon in it, Sicilian Lemon Oil to be exact which is antibacterial. I think this is going to work for me as I am very clumsy. I must be careful because I had a bad reaction to a lemon-flavoured drink when I was younger (on holiday, if you want a full story, please let me know), but I haven’t had an issue with anything else lemon related so far. I have high expectations that I am going to like this product, but I would like to try it out to confirm my suspicions.
It is a shame that this is a limited edition, but I might have to grab myself a couple more if I like it before it goes out of stock, but I haven’t got long left before Christmas. If you would like to try this one out for yourself (please don’t sell them out I would like to purchase more at some point), please find the link below.
Star Light Star Bright Bath Melt
Firstly, if you don’t like glitter, I would highly suggest you stay well away. I’ll admit, I used to avoid glitter but it’s not bad. I have not had an issue with Lush glitter it is so fine it doesn’t clog any drains, and you don’t get out of the bath looking like a disco ball. You have a very small amount of glitter on your skin, but no one has ever commented on it, so it isn’t obvious. You don’t have to use this in one go either, you can cut it up and use it in chunks. It completely depends on your preference; I would dump this one in full because it is perfect for a dark wintery night where all you want to do is relax so treat yourself.
Would you believe it, another moisturising product? Lush knows how to adapt their product to the seasons I hear that the ginger that is in this one is great for sore muscles. With all that decorating, bag carrying, and purse carrying, you are bound to have a sore muscle or two. Have you had your Christmas party yet?
One little side note, this product is designed to melt with warm temperatures so be careful where you store it. You don’t want to put it near a radiator. This price is reasonable at only £4.95. Typically, the bath melts are a little more than a bath bomb, so I didn’t hesitate about putting this in my basket. Again, if you want to check this one out, go to your nearest Lush store or visit the website at the link below.
The Olive Branch Bath Bomb
Can I just mention how cool the design is on this bath bomb? This mix of orange and white gives a nice contrast and will look amazing fizzing around in the bath. I don’t think this is particularly Christmas-themed, but it reminds me of those sand jars you made when you were younger. Do you remember making those jars of different coloured sands in different layers?
I like the price of this one as well, it is sitting at the lower end of the price range for bath bombs at £3.95 per bath bomb. It’s such a shame there isn’t a Lush any closer to where I live, my closest one is about a 20-minute drive and not the easiest place to get parked. I would probably go bankrupt if there was one closer, so it might be a good thing that one isn’t any closer. I am trying to limit the products I keep at home, I got to be a bit of a hoarder when it comes to beauty products and makeup. Do I need 4 shower gels lined up? No, it is not necessary to have multiples of everything.
My last two times purchasing Lush items I have ordered online for ease and did not have the time to go to the nearest store. It is in the opposite direction of every other shop I go to, so I don’t go often. I like that you get to look through the products without running the risk of a shop assistant coming up to although they are always pleasant in Lush.
If you want to try it out for yourself, head to your local store or click this link in the button below.
Marshmallow World Bath Bomb
If you thought the Olive Branch Bath Bomb looks cool, you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen this one. Again, it looks like the sand bottles from when I was younger. I miss them, I might have to buy a set, it would make a nice Christmas present don’t you think?
The colours and the pattern are mesmerising, it just works so well together. By the description, I can tell you that this is a sweet-scented bath comb. If you go to the website it says in a little black bubble saying “exclusive” but doesn’t give any further description as to what that means, I am guessing that you can only purchase this online. If you know any different please do let me know.
I am guessing this product would be perfect for a winter night after a filling roast dinner. You can relax and unwind to the sweet smell of vanilla and strawberry, which are both high on my liked scents list. Two ingredients interest me in this bath bomb, one is Marshmallow Powder. It is supposedly good for sore throats and coughs. The plant is known to be anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. Now I know to eat marshmallows next time I have a cold. The next ingredient is granulated sugar which helps to preserve moisture in the skin. It may also exfoliate your skin at the same time, what could go wrong?
If you want to give this one a go, (I think I am sold on it now) you can pick it up for £5.95 at your local Lush store or follow this link below.
