354 L’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation

The first thing I want to say is that this is possibly the only foundation I have ever owned that is extremely close to my skin colour. I have so much trouble finding a foundation that is good for my skin as well as matches the colour. I don’t think this is the perfect match, but it is the closest I have ever tried without a doubt.

I was surprised at how nice and easy it is to apply. I got so used to the Revlon Colourstay and having to blend quite a lot because it is a thick formula compared to this one. I have only tried applying this foundation with a real technique’s beauty blender sponge. I pop a bit on the back of my hand (not the most hygienic way to apply so make sure you wash your hands before you apply), dip the sponge in, dot it around my face and then blend. It is quite a runny consistency which deceived me. I thought it would be a very light coverage. I was so wrong; I don’t think it is full coverage. If you are having a good day and your blemishes aren’t very prominent then it would be but if you have got any deep colouring on your skin, then you’re out of luck. In general, I think it is medium to full coverage depending on your skin.

The finish of this foundation is a lovely glow healthy look. It doesn’t look overly dry, and it doesn’t look like you have dipped your face in a bowl of foundation like some of them do. You don’t need a lot of powder to set it either. I haven’t noticed that it goes cakey, around the nose slightly if you powder it too many times. It doesn’t seem to have a scent which I like in foundations because there is less chance of having a reaction or irritation.

Midday doesn’t look too bad it doesn’t look perfect as I usually have had it on for 4 – 5 hours already. It does need a bit of a touch-up but only in my T-Zone which is pretty much the case with every foundation anyway so that doesn’t make any difference to me if anything it is quicker to touch up as I usually grab a powder brush and just go over my T-Zone and I am fine. I can imagine the blotting sheets would be a good thing to use with this foundation which I am going to try.

Around 5 – 6 pm it is about time to take it off, it doesn’t look terrible, but it does look like I have been wearing the makeup all day. But by 6 I have been wearing it for 10 hours, so it does well. Sometimes I get back late, or I must go somewhere so it stays on until 7 or 8 but still it doesn’t look terrible if I am going, to be honest. It needs to come off around 7 or 8, it won’t last much longer than that. For me, it is my nose area that is a problem. If you took my nose out of it, I could keep it on a lot longer. I wear glasses so I always get the marks where my glasses sit and rub the foundation off. It is kind of annoying; if you know a trick to stop it from coming off so much, please let me know.

I noticed straight away I didn’t feel it on my skin, if you wear a lot of makeup you will probably agree that it is horrible when you can feel the products sitting on your skin. I can confirm that I do not have this problem; it is such as thin lightweight formula it is perfect for skin that is prone to breakouts. It is also easy to remove, some foundations you take off but then you find a bit on your bed sheets in the morning. This one is super easy to take off, a wipe or a bit of cleanser and you are as good as new. This one is great for the warmer weather if the sun is out as there is SPF already in the foundation giving you some protection, but you should still apply SPF beforehand, you can never be too safe when it comes to the sun it is a fire at the end of the day.

Now I love the luxury feeling of the glass bottle, it makes it feel expensive and an upmarket posh product, but it is annoying and heavy if you are travelling. It isn’t impossible to travel with it just isn’t the most travel friendly as far as foundations go. It is a shame glass has such a weight to it. The only other thing I have noticed about this foundation is that it doesn’t last very well if it is hot outside which is not very often in England but now and then we have a period when it is hot outside, and it just comes off. It just isn’t made for the hot weather.

I would recommend trying this foundation, overall, I like it. It isn’t the perfect match for my skin, but it is close enough. I would like to repurchase this foundation, but I might see if there is a lighter colour before I buy the same one again. If there isn’t this will be getting this but after I have used up some of the other ones in my collection.
