Well, as you know, or may know. I have been working on trying to use up products. With that, it means I have suddenly got loads of empty products to tell you about. I have a serious backlog of products to tell you about. I also have a lot of products that I have donated which I am going to share with you at some point. I have also given some of the unopened products as presents. However, we are talking about the products I have used up completely and tell you what I think about them.
Impulse Hint of Musk Body Spray
Batiste Instant Hair Refresh Dry Shampoo – With A Hint of Colour Divine Dark (x3)
Girlz Only Dry Shampoo for Brunettes
Treaclemoon That Vanilla Moment (Shower Gel)
Zoella Bubble Soak
St Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub
Well here goes with some of my current empties. There were too many to put into one post.
Impulse Hint of Musk Body Spray
I have managed to acquire 3 of these. How I do not know. They just jump into my basket when I am not looking! I could probably smell nice until my deathbed with the lot I have now. Someone needs to hide my money! I am going to go back to paying in cash, paying a card makes it too easy to get the extra bits you don’t need. I currently have the new one sitting on my desk trying to encourage me to use it up. I will often spray it around my room as well to make my room smell good and help me use up the bits I have. The new designs are just gorgeous, the tropical vibe of them is perfect for right now don’t you think? I love a good body spray; they are just so simple and easy to use. You can chuck it on and run, no messing around. Impulse has got the scent down for this one, they don’t mess up very often, but this is a winner. The scent is lovely, musky as you could guess from the name. I would say this is a perfect everyday spray.
Batiste Instant Hair Refresh Dry Shampoo – With A Hint of Colour Divine Dark (x3)
If you don’t know what this is, erm, where have you been? I wanted to try this for ages, I remember begging my mum for it in my early teens, but it took off a few years ago. I have dark hair so at first, I struggle to use the normal one. Then I found this one, a godsend! It is a little pricy considering it is just talc. (A little tip, you can use talc, but you have to be careful, or you look like you have got grey hair). I don’t think I have ever paid full price for it. I get it in Savers, Pound Shop, B&M or when it is on offer. I also use it to cover the patch of grey hair that I have. (Yes, I got a grey patch when I was 17/18.) I now dye my hair, but it is quite expensive to get it dyed. To fix this problem I use dry shampoo in between washes to cover most of it. I only have one patch of it, so it is easy to cover it. As I said above, I am not too fussy about dry shampoo it either works or it doesn’t, and I haven’t found one that doesn’t work so far. I will use this one again (in the future), but it just depends on the best offer in the shop I am in. Now, 200mls of this one from Boots is £3.99. Not too bad but more than double Boots’ brand. (I never buy it when it is full price). I have dark red hair and I use this one and it works perfectly. Just a little hint, if you are using it for the first time, do not panic when you wash your hair. It makes your hair look really when you wash it off because it is the colour coming out. I always check the deals in B&M, and Savers and occasionally you find them in Poundland. However, if you want to order it tonight, here is the link to the product in Boots.
Girlz Only Dry Shampoo for Brunettes
I have no clue where I got this one. I tend to just grab the one that is on offer when I need a new one. Does anyone else do that? I haven’t found any hair products that I love yet, so I play around. Batiste can be so expensive, and I got through it quite quickly, so I refuse to pay full price for it. I have looked online, and you can get your hands on this one for £2, not a bad price. I get a grey patch in the middle of my head so I just this to cover that in-between hairdresser trips. Some days I don’t care, and I will leave the grey patch out (showing through) but if I am going out for lunch, dinner, or any kind of event that this comes in handy. My hair is a dark red colour, and the brunette sprays work perfectly.
Unfortunately, I am one of those people that have oily skin which means my hair is quite oily too. I am also a little bit lazy, so I use dry shampoo in-between washes pretty much every time. It is much quicker than washing your hair every couple of days. I did use to wash my hair every day (I don’t know how I had the time). Stick a bit of this in your roots and you are good to go.
Treaclemoon That Vanilla Moment (Shower Gel)
Okay, so I might have fallen into the trap. Yes, they got me, but it said Vanilla, so I decided I had to try it. If you know me or have been reading for a while you will know I like anything vanilla. It can be ice cream, lip, moisturiser, spray, or just anything vanilla (even cake).
Has anyone tried this one? I am not sure of the scent. I usually like anything sweet but this one is too sweet, I think. Almost sickly sweet. I never thought I would say that about a shower gel! Other than the scent it was a rather good shower gel, it worked as a bubble bath as well. I don’t buy a separate bubble bath anymore; I just use the shower gel.
Zoella Bubble Soak
This was part of a set that I got for Christmas. Is it me or does anyone else hate the perfume of body gift sets? Who wants body wash that smells like perfume, for me, they seem to just sit in a box collecting dust and going off before they can get used up. I will admit, I didn’t love this one. The scent was not my cup of tea, it was quite strong and just not for me. Although it did the job, it made bubbles and didn’t’ smell like rubbish. I think I ended up using it all in one go to get rid of it. I am a bit impatient like that, I can’t have loads of little bits of products sitting around. I must use one up before I start a new one 99% of the time. The packaging design is good, I love the colours and she nailed the space theme.
St Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub
Unfortunately, I had to throw a lot of this product away because it was so old. I bought this when I was 17 or 18 and I just never got around to using most of it. I found an exfoliant that I liked and just forgot about this one. I hate it when that happens, throwing away a perfectly good product because you forgot! It is a great product which is why I kept hold of it because I did want to use it, I just left it too long. Like most people did during the dreaded “Quarantine” I went through everything I owned, and I was ruthless!
Don’t worry anything useable that could be used was given to friends and family (while practising social distance). I am set for skincare, makeup and anything beauty related for at least 6 months.
I will repurchase this because I did like the product, it was gentle, it smelt good, and the packaging is nice and easy to work with. However, I am not allowed to buy anything until I have one of everything left. I have over 200 products to use. Please wish me luck, anything new and unopened will be used as presents to avoid expiring.
