Recently I have been looking at beauty products that I want to try out and things I want to try and incorporate into my skincare routine. As a result, I have bought a few bits and worked up quite a collection which I thought I would share with you. Maybe I have uncovered a gem that you have been looking for everywhere and you want to give it a go yourself. Without further ado, let’s crack open my bag of goodies.
Real Techniques Make-Up Brushes – Base Core Collection
I do really like real techniques brushes; they are soft and versatile. They have suggestions on the handle of what you can use them for, but you can use any of them for anything or mostly at least. I don’t think I would use an eye shadow brush to apply foundation but you many the face brushes you can use them for all types of face products, and you have no problems which I like. They do have a decent price tag on them, so I tend to wait until they are on offer before I purchase any of them. This set also comes with a portable case which will come in handy. I didn’t use to like them because I use quite a few brushes, but I have simplified my everyday makeup routine now, so I carry 3 or 4 brushes which are perfect. I bought mine from Superdrug but here is the link to order them from Amazon. They cost £20.99 when not on offer.
Real Techniques Make-Up Brushes – Sculpting Set
This set of brushes wasn’t on the top of my list, but they were on offer, and I like most of their brushes so I thought to bite the bullet and I will probably like them. I am not sure if I will use the middle brush, but I am sure I will eventually find a use for it. I like how small the brush on the far right is, it would be perfect for children as they have small features or adults if you are as small as me. Most 12-year-olds are bigger than me so the big brushes I tend to struggle with. The sculpting brush set is a bit more expensive than the core, which is expected, usually, the basic line of a product range is the cheapest, and they sell at £22.99.
Revolution Eye Shadow Palette – Neutral
I got this because it has a colour that is perfect for my brows. I don’t like to buy brow products because it is fancy eye shadow whereas you can get away with using a cheaper eye shadow and get the same results. Just make sure the eye shadow you choose is 100% shimmer free. This eye shadow palette is just going to be great for everyday looks. You don’t need to pack loads of individual eye shadows when you go on holiday, just pop this in your bag and you’re good to go. Now the best thing about this palette is it is £4 in Superdrug so if you end up not liking it you haven’t wasted £30 on a palette.
Maybelline New York Fit Me Foundation
I went into my local Superdrug on the hunt for a new foundation to try out. I wanted to find one that matches my skin tone, which is impossible! When I saw this and saw how many shades, I thought it would be great to try, so I grabbed the lightest shade and put it in my basket. As far as foundations go, this is a good price at only £6.99. It is also designed for oily skin which is perfect for me. I don’t think I have tried a foundation with Maybelline other than the dream matt mousse which is very popular. Here is the link to the fit me foundation. Get clicking.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair
I never really used to touch this, but I am officially hooked. I have gone through so many. It has become my go-to concealer. It is normally the first makeup product that I place in my basket online or in the shops. They do three or four different shades and I use it every day, this is my makeup staple for everyday makeup. It is a great price as well which makes it an even nicer product. I buy it from Superdrug for £4.19. Click the link to check it out if you haven’t yet.
L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask
I am currently using 100% L’Oreal skincare so when they bought this out, I thought I should probably give it a go. There are four different options, I choose the clay one because in general, I tend to like the clay masks over the others you can get. I also like the words detoxifies and clarifying. I mean who would turn down skin that is detoxified and clarified, I cannot think of anything bad about that type of skin. Also, over the summer people tend to be outdoors more, cooking on the BBQ, swimming etc so your skin is exposed to more toxins, and you sweat more so it sits on the top of your skin unless you wash your face a lot. I honestly can’t wait to give it a go. I also love how luxurious the L’Oreal packaging looks, it just looks so sleek, and appealing don’t you think? They are currently selling for £7.99 in Superdrug which is pretty good as it says you can get ten masks out of it.
Sugar Baby Vita + Skin, Vita Lip
This was in the sale section; I think I paid just 50p for it so I thought I would see what it was all about. I will admit I currently do not use a lip scrub. I like the packaging for this, I am not normally attracted to pink things, but this is just so pretty, they are very much holiday colours. It advertises no animal testing on the back of the box which is always amazing.
Panda Hand Cream
I am not sure if this has a name or how nice it is. It was a freebie with an order I got from River Island. I am a very big fan of Panda’s so this is just too cute. I am trying to finish my current hand cream so I can get on to using this one as soon as possible. I also like the fact that it will probably encourage me to apply hand cream which I am terrible at. I got it free, but I did find something online.
Lily Allen Elegant Touch False Nails
Firstly, I am a big fan of Lily Allen so that is what drew me into purchasing these. I also love the design of them, it is a small collection of popular London landmarks including Big Ben (which is called the Victoria Tower, Big Ben is just the clock in the tower), the London Eye, London Tower and the Millennium Dome now known as the O2 arena. I just love the colours and the shape of these nails. I bought them in a shop called Savers, so they were only about £3.
