Good evening one and all, boys, girls, men, women, and everything in between. No matter who you are, good evening! How are we all? So… word on the street is that I may or may not have purchased a few bits and bobs and I guess I am going to share with you what those bits and bobs are. How does that sound?
I warn you… there are some random things in there which could have you thinking “what are you buying Soph”. I do understand, but there are also some normal things in there too so it will even out. I am excited to share that I have got a new laptop (if you didn’t already know) so I am getting used to a new keyboard and enjoying using the new things.
The list of items I have bought includes:
Boots HeadBand
Garnier Papaya Shampoo
Garnier Papaya Conditioner
Eco Pens
Oriflame Love Nature Dark Berries Face Mask Smoothie
Oriflame Love Nature Dark Berries Face Scrub Marmalade
Boots Back Wash/Strap
Cantu Shea Butter Grow Strong Strengthening Hair Treatment
Cantu Care for Kids Conditioner Detangler.
Radox Muscle Therapy Bubble Bath (Red)
Radox Muscle Soak Bubble Bath (Blue)
Oriflame Love Nature Refreshing Shower Gel with Coconut & Melon
Oriflame Venture EDT
Oriflame North for Men Subzero Soap Bar
Oriflame North for Men Subzero Hair and Body Wash
Oriflame Love Nature Fragrance Mist with Organic Oats and Apricot
Okay… so there are a few more things than I thought there were, but three of the above items are presents. Shall we get into the haul?
Boots Head Band
When it comes to headbands, I have always been on the fence and didn’t understand the need for them. It was going to be an extra thing to wash, it was going to get covered in make-up and rubbish etc. However, I gave in because I saw this one and it looks super comfy. I do have to confess that I didn’t NEED this one (I am working on having less clutter and trying to buy things as I need them). But… I had a moment and I decided that I wanted to try this one. I have had a few over the years but they have always been too big, so they just collected dust. In my attempt to be a responsible adult I am getting rid of the things I am not using. I have only had the pleasure of using it once so far because I keep forgetting about it. But once I am in a better routine, I plan to use it a lot more. It feels nice, it’s soft, it’s a good fit, and the price isn’t bad. So, overall, a good purchase if you ask me.
Garnier Papaya Shampoo and Conditioner
This one might not come as a surprise to you. I was planning on trying all the Garnier hair sets out. This is the first one. I’m not too sure how I feel about the product. The packaging is nicely designed, the colours work well, it’s easy to pick up etc. It’s not a massive bottle for the price. I’d prefer the bottle to be bigger. I have recently discovered that my hair is not particularly healthy, it is thin, it is dry, it is damaged etc, so I am trying to pick more wisely. The Papaya set is designed for damaged hair according to the packaging which is why I started with them. I am hoping the scent isn’t too strong because it’s not my favourite scent. It’s quite tropical, I prefer a citrus scent. But if it can fix my hair then I am willing to put up with the scent.
Eco Pens
Well, well, well. This was possibly a late-night purchase which happened when I couldn’t get to sleep so I decided to waste time on the internet. I do not recommend doing so… it is typically a time when you spend money you weren’t planning on spending so quickly. I did think they were such a neat idea. A 100% recyclable pen is the way to go. If you hadn’t guessed, I found these by accident, I did not plan on looking for pens. I do NEED any more pens. But I am excited to get to use these. I love the packaging; everything is 100% recyclable which is very on-trend now.
Oriflame Love Nature Dark Berries Face Mask Smoothie and Oriflame Love Nature Dark Berries Face Scrub Marmalade
These two were and are genius ideas if you ask me. In general, a lot of people are getting into healthy eating, vegan diets are on the rise. So, to name something smoothie/marmalade which is “healthy” words is a great idea. It makes it seem like a fresh product because often smoothies are fresh fruit and sometimes veg etc. Marmalade is fruit based as well, so it is all based on freshness, fruit, veg etc. I did buy these with a person in mind as a gift (but I also might have bought them both for me). The person who will receive these I don’t think reads my posts so hopefully, they won’t have guessed. I am excited to get to try these, but it might be a little while as I do have a couple of scrubs to use up first. It has some organic ingredients. Something cool when it comes to the scrub is that it is biodegradable. So, when you wash it off… it will naturally break down which is GREAT news for the environment. The mask also has organic ingredients, and it is a cream mask, so it won’t harden (which is good for sensitive skin. According to the website it is designed to add moisture to your skin, if you are a dry skin sufferer then get your mitts on this one and give it a go.
Boots Back Wash/Strap
Now, I know this is a random thing to buy. Most people take one look at this and say, “that’s something Grandad has”. And I am fully aware that these are most likely designed for the older generation. However, for someone who can struggle with mobility, this has come in handy over the past couple of weeks. I had noticed that my back was getting quite itchy, and I was struggling to satisfy the itch. I sort of decided that this was because I have dry skin and because I couldn’t easily reach my back to scrub away the dead skin it was then making my back itchy. At least this is one theory. I had been meaning to get something to exfoliate my back, but I didn’t want to get anything too harsh because my skin is… let’s say… sensitive. It doesn’t take a lot for me to get a cut or a bruise, so I aim to be gentle as much as possible. Anyway, I bought this. It was £6. Now, it seems like that is a little steep, but I’ve done it, I’ve opened it so there is not a lot I can do about the price now. Is it worth the price…? Maybe. If I lost it, I wouldn’t rush out to get the same one, but it has helped with the itchiness. And it means I haven’t got to do acrobatics to scratch that annoying itch on my back. This is a good quality product, defo worth trying… but I would recommend looking around to see if there is a cheaper alternative hanging around. And it does soak up quite a bit of shower gel.
Cantu Shea Butter Grow Strong Strengthening Hair Treatment
If you have read my recent posts, you will know I am on a mission to try and improve my hair. To do so I have been looking at various products. I didn’t discover this one until my most recent order, but I thought I would give it a go. I know nothing about the brand so it will be nice to try something new and discover a new brand, do you think? At this point, I am willing to try anything and everything possible to get my hair back to being healthy. My hair is so dry and broken that it’s just a frizz ball. If anyone knows anything that helps with frizz, please leave the products in the comments section, or use my contact me page to get in touch. I have never seen this brand around; I could just not have been looking with my eyes open. The packaging for this brand is beautiful, and subtle but very luxury looking, with the frosted glass appearance.
Cantu Care for Kids Conditioner Detangler
Now, I have the kind of hair that you brush… you put the brush down and stand back up and you already need to re-brush it. I am not sure why, but it is just a frizz ball, and it looks nice for a few seconds and then it looks like I’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards. It’s annoying. It’s over the past year that it’s got particularly frizzy and looking kinda awful. Over the past month or so I’ve become very insecure about my hair. No matter what I do to it… it looks very messy and just not nice. There is no shine and it’s just right.
Radox Muscle Therapy Bubble Bath (Red)
I don’t know why, but lately, I have been a sucker when it comes to a bubble baths. I just love them. It’s a bit of a long process for me but it’s been worth it lately. It is relaxing, it is cosy, it warms me up, and it helps some of my aches and pains. As a result of my bath addiction, I have been using up a lot of bubble bath products. This has been one of my favourites. The scent of it is lovely, if you read the bottle, you will see it says, “blended with minerals, black pepper scent & ginseng”. I was drawn to the one because of the words “Muscle Therapy”. And I don’t know if it was a dodgy one that I bought but this one seems to be a thicker consistency than the other Radox bubble baths. I guess we will find out when I open this one.
Radox Muscle Therapy Bubble Bath (Blue)
I bought this one because the first shop I went to didn’t have the red one. And this was the only other one that had Muscle …. On the front. This one is called Muscle Soak. Smells quite nice, not as good as the red one but pretty decent. This one is blended with sea minerals & sage. Very earthy. My favourite colour is blue as well, so this one can get one extra point. I will let you in on a secret (well not a secret). They are on offer in Boots at the minute, 2 for £2 across all Radox bubble baths.
Oriflame Love Nature Refreshing Shower Gel with Coconut & Melon
I was on the fence about this product. It seemed like a summer-type product, it appears to be all-natural ingredients (but don’t quote me), I love the scent of melon, but I am not sure of the coconut scent. I am hoping that it’s not overpowering. It is described as bursting with the fruity, refreshing scent of coconut water and melon. The bottle is 100% recycled plastic (an amazing trait), and the product is biodegradable. Coconut water is full of electrolytes which are great for your body. The bottle is a little small for my liking, and it’s not the cheapest shower gel you can find but it could be worth it.
Men’s Oriflame Set
Oriflame Venture EDT
Oriflame North for Men Subzero Soap Bar
Oriflame North for Men Subzero Hair and Body Wash
If you hadn’t guessed… I bought these as a set, for a particular person. Yes, it is going to be a Father’s Day gift. I know I am very early. But being early is better than being late and I don’t like the cliché gifts. I will probably get a bottle of alcohol closer to the day, but for now, this will do. I just gotta hope he doesn’t find it before it’s time.
Oriflame Venture EDT
The venture has a very simple square design. A nice subtle green colour. The scent is fresh and clean, I mean peppermint is always quite cooling and refreshing. There is Cedarwood which is quite a pleasant scent. It makes a very nice candle spell, that, and Sandalwood. The scents seem to be quite subtle, so I think my dad is going to enjoy this scent.
Oriflame North for Men Subzero Soap Bar
The soap bar is quite self-explanatory. It has something called Swedish Burdock Root (not sure what that is) and Arctic Fresh Menthol. I enjoy menthol things. They are great for the sinuses. It has an Arctic roseroot, which is good in cold weather. According to the Oriflame website, Arctic roseroot is great for fatigue, and it works as an antioxidant.
Oriflame North for Men Subzero Hair and Body Wash
The hair and body wash have the same ingredients as the soap bar, the same benefits, and the same scent. The main difference is that it’s a shower gel, not a soap bar. It will be great for the hair because of the burdock root ingredient.
Oriflame Love Nature Fragrance Mist with Organic Oats and Apricot
Okay, so this one I didn’t need this one. I have more than enough sprays but this one caught my eye. Apricots can be a pleasant smell; it is probably going to remind me of yoghurt. Again, yoghurt and oats both have a healthy, full-of-good, vibe about them, so it gives the impression that this product is healthy. This is either going to smell lovely, or it is going to remind me of porridge/breakfast. I am not sure about smelling like breakfast food, but we shall see. The packaging looks great, the colours are subtle, and the overall look gives a light fluffy summer feeling. It’s organic as well which I’m not surprised about. I mean. oat and apricots are both growing ingredients which come from plants. Nothing artificial etc.
