3339 If you can save another’s life and don’t because doing so would break the law, are you ethically justified in your decision?

Updated: Sep 26

My Answer: Hmm, I think I would save the life. I would hope that the person I saved would give thanks enough to justify my actions.

A Friend’s Answer: Erm couldn’t answer. I’d break the law to save a life. (Demi)

September 2024 - If you can save another’s life and don’t because doing so would break the law, are you ethically justified in your decision?

My Answer: Nope, no way. I would always say saving a life is going to trump breaking the law. If someone was getting in trouble for breaking the law while saving a life I would fight to get them free etc.

A Friend’s Answer: This is hard. I don’t know of a situation where it would be against the law to save a life. If I could but didn’t, I would have demons knowing I let a person die. Life or Law. Consequences? Too hard to answer without more info. (Sharon)
