Today is a day to celebrate the good kind hearts in the world, hopefully, there are a lot. Some of you reading may laugh because you like me do not believe there are many good people left. Everyone is going to have a day or two where they don’t believe that there is any good left in the world, you are allowed to have an off day. Everyone is entitled to a bad day occasionally
I think a Random Acts of Kindness Day is a great idea. The day is about doing something to benefit or help someone else. There are several things you could do, doesn’t have to include money, it could just be your own time. It can take 2 seconds to complete a random act of kindness. It is a day about others, a day of selflessness. Do you want to join in the random act of kindness day but are not sure what to do? Click here to read a few examples:
You could:
Hold a door open for someone, a teacher carrying 30 books, a person in a wheelchair, or a mother with a pushchair. It doesn’t seem like much, but I could help someone and inspire them to help someone else out.
Do you use public transport to get to work, college, school or anywhere? Yes, then today is the day you choose to stand, and let someone else take your seat. Again, it doesn’t seem like much but if you are wobbly on your feet, it often can make public transport your worst nightmare, particularly when you get it at peak times.
Have you got some old books collecting dust? Give them to your local library, children’s home or even a hospital for the waiting rooms.
Want to help someone specifically but can’t think of an idea, ask them if there is anything you could do for them. They may desperately need pink milk from the corner shop or a letter to be posted.
A friend asked you to attend a gathering or party and you don’t want to go? Go anyway, do it for them, it will improve your friendship and possibly help them at the event.
Think someone looks lost, stop them, and offer some directions.
You could give blood but make sure you complete this safely and don’t risk your own life.
Pay for someone’s lunch, maybe in a drive pay for the person behind you. This will be unexpected and a nice surprise
Got some old blankets or bed sheets? Take them to your local vet or RSPCA. I have done this a couple of times and they are grateful for your help.
Completing a selfless act is not hard. Let me know what you get up to, comment below or get in touch with me on the contact’s page.
