Those of you that know me will know on Sunday I got injured, being a typical British person trying to get Tea Bags off the top shelf using a chair. In my defence, I have been using the same chair for at least 3 years and I have never had a problem.
I am still not sure how I fell because I had one foot already firmly on the ground, the second foot down and that was it I was on the floor. Can I just say that we seriously underestimate how much a sore foot affects your everyday life? Suddenly even going to the bathroom you must work out how you are going to do it. Instead of just getting up and walking over, you must work out how you are going to get up, get to the bathroom, how you are going to close the door, should you lock the door, and what if you fall and you can’t get back up?
Luckily, I went to the hospital and got an X-ray which said no breaks, unfortunately, I am unable to walk on it now 6 days after the injury. Thankfully I had booked a holiday from work, so I didn’t have to call in sick other than Sunday. Sunday morning, I got up and my boss told me to be careful because it is icy.
So, wish me luck in walking in the next couple of days!
