Packaging is perfect for travelling or keeping tucked away neat and tidy. I love this they have a good reputation and never fail to impress me. I am going on holiday and my skin was fairly bad, so I decided to go for a full deep pore cleanse. I also have very dry skin particularly in the winter so I thought this would be a perfect mask to try. Fruit is good for your skin as well as a thick mud mask.
The face mask smelt amazing, I could have sat in it forever give or take a day or two. It was a plain cream colour and had a very thick consistency. I find this type easy to apply because it stays where you place it unless the thin ones are. It says on the website that it packs a punch – it’s not kidding, it really does pack a punch. You can feel it working which I LOVE about a face mask!
I found it stings a little so if you don’t like the stinging sensation then this one isn’t for you, or if you have sensitive skin then stay away from this mask. I have sensitive skin but I know the limits, I was close to taking this mask off but it only stings for about a minute after that it calms down and feels very cool and refreshing.
It is a setting mask so be sure to have warm water nearby to aid removal, taking this off with no water is bound to be quite painful. Cold water is just not very relaxing so I prefer to use warm water but it is not compulsory to use warm water. The packet says 10-15 minutes but if I am just at home I will leave it on until it sets or until I have finished what I was doing. Sometimes I leave it on for close to an hour it depends on the day and what I am doing. I tend to pop a mask on and then tidy my room or do some college work etc maybe put your washing away or something. Probably not a great idea to wear it while in your favourite expensive top.
I do a medium thickness layer as you don’t want it too thin but you also don’t want it too heavy as this could result in wrinkles – this depends on how dramatic you are about your skin. I know girls as young as 14 worrying about wrinkles. The drying time will be affected by the layer you do, whenever I apply a mud mask, the edges tend to set first and then it takes a while if you have applied a thick layer.
It feels very tight when it is on but that is because it is a setting mask, it will go rock hard and if you move your face it will crash which can be painful. I tend to crack around my mouth when it is dry which takes about 10 minutes just so it isn’t as uncomfortable. If you have been looking down when the mask is setting, looking up will probably crash the mask.
This mask has two main ingredients – Goji berry and pomegranate. These are both amazing fruits and very good for your skin. It claims to be suitable for combination, oily and normal skin. I wouldn’t recommend you try this mask if you have damaged or sensitive skin as it is a harsh mask. It is in no way gentle on the skin, it really deep cleans the skin, and you can tell it is working while you are wearing the mask. The feeling dies down, but it remains there.
