64 St Patrick’s Day

This is a holiday celebrated mainly in Ireland and by the Irish that has moved away from Ireland. There are different ways to celebrate St Patrick’s Day this holiday. Parades are often held all around Ireland and sometimes in other parts of the world but mainly in Ireland. As well as parades you can support the holiday by wearing shamrocks, wearing green, drinking Irish beer or drinking Irish whiskey.

St Patrick’s Day is an annual celebration held on the 17th of March. It is a day of cultural and religious celebrations. It has been celebrated since the 17th century when it became an official Christian feast day. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the introduction of Christianity in Ireland and celebrates the heritage and culture of Ireland in general.

Like other holidays of this type, there are festivals and parades as explained above. Churches are known to hold services and restrictions on food and drink and lifted for the full day. This holiday is also celebrated in countries outside of Ireland including Great Britain, Canada, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.

The exact date and year of Saint Patrick’s birth are unconfirmed, but it is believed that he was boring into a wealthy family during the 4th century. During his childhood, he was believed to have been kidnapped by an Irish raider and taken to be a slave in Gaelic Ireland. As a slave, he worked as a Shepherd but later became a priest on his return home.

As his date of birth is unknown his death date is used as the day to celebrate his memory. The 17th of March was the beginning of numerous legends surrounding Patrick which is where he was named Ireland’s Saint.
