As it was Burns night on Monday I thought I would have a look as see if I can see a few facts about Scotland. So here goes nothing.
Haggis is considered the National Dish of Scotland. It is made with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and sheep organs and is all kept together in a stomach lining.
Loch Ness Monster is a snake-like creature that was supposedly spotted in Lock Ness Lake in the Scottish Highlands. Although if the Lock Ness Monster exists has just to be proved. They have also nicknamed the monster “Nessy’.
Kilts is a knee-length garment worn by men since the 16th Century which has become the iconic symbol of Scotland but in recent years the kilt has become more of formal attire.
Edinburgh Castle, located high in the capital and is also the most famous castle. The castle is known for being the host of various historical events such as the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Highland Bagpipes, I would say almost all people think of Scotland whenever the bagpipers are involved. I personally enjoy them and think they are a great instrument but they have followed the pattern of kilts being that they are usually now only brought out on special occasions. An example would be burns night.
