When I say old for new, I mean taking all the old broken or damaged items and finding a replacement. I am working on redesigning my room. As a former student with limited funds to spend on décor and unnecessary items it was hard to put a room together that I loved. I am working on it and have been for a while. I more or less need to strip the room from head to toe. There are some things I need to keep.
In my room I currently have,
A Double Wardrobe,
A Double Bed,
An Old Rickety Desk,
A Nice Set Of Drawers,
A Bedside Cabinet
A Horrible Set Of Drawers,
Wooden Flooring,
A Nice Wall With Wallpaper On And The Other Three Are Chipped With A Cream Colour On.
I want to strip my room and only put things back in that I want to keep. I am getting tired of the clutter and everything that is not wanted just being dumped in my room. I want to cut down on all the stuff I have because I just don’t use it all if I am honest. I don’t need everything that is in my room, I don’t use everything that is in my room, so I am thinking of taking two weeks of work, or maybe a week and then a week later.
I want to get my room, each day I will get up early and I am going to ask my dad to help me sort out my room. If I stayed at my Grandparent’s house, I wouldn’t have to put it all back each night, I could just leave it and then start again in the morning. I wouldn’t have to get ready because I will be covered in paint and all sorts.
I have always loved decorating; I am terrible at making decisions, but I love looking at everything and saving bits I want to have. I still live at home, so I am a bit limited on space. Everything has to fit into one room, so I do struggle for space. I look forward to stressing over decorating and furnishing an entire house at some point in my life.
Everyone remembers or maybe even still plays the computer game Sims, right? I used to love it, well, I still do love it, but I didn’t like the people part. I just liked building and designing the rooms, for people to live in. If it wasn’t so expensive, I would buy it and play it now but it’s a little unnecessary for now. Please tell me that someone else likes to build houses in Sims, I cannot be the only one.
Anyway, I started looking around, trying to pick colours and what I would need to fit all of my crap in. I decided I wanted to minimise the number of units and clutter I had in my room because it just felt crowded and not very nice. I don’t know I have so much rubbish in my room; I don’t use most of it. As a result, I decided to sort and continue sorting. I seem to find more things to go in the bin every time I open a drawer.
I realised I wasn’t sticking to a theme in my room. I was more or less staying with the colour scheme, but it wasn’t quite matching. It was all different shades of the same colour which looked rubbish. All my furniture is mismatched; well, it is a little more matched than it used to be because I have slowly been getting the furniture. So, I am going to have a clear out again, I am going to be 100% ruthless and then I will speak to my dad and see if he is up to help me out.
Now, you may ask why I am telling you. I want you to get the motivation to get rid of the bits you don’t use. Put it in your car and deliver it to a local charity shop. If it is broken or unusable throw it in the bin.
Right, wish me luck please, I aim to start this week among the other bits I need to get done!
