63 Mother’s Day!!!

Mother’s Day is a day dedicated to all mothers around the world. Mother’s day is traditionally the second Sunday of March and was started in North America. The dates change as it depends on what date the second Sunday of March falls on.

It began in the early 20th century; the modern-day American holiday of Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908. It was originally just to give all mothers credit for being a mother but it has become a commercial holiday now where card shops are filled with pink cards and flowers etc.

Jarvis was the person who started the celebrations and was successful in being the founder of Mother’s Day but didn’t like the commercialization of it as it progressed. She became angry with the companies who were trying to make a profit out of her idea which was purely to make all mothers feel nice. It wasn’t long into the 1920s when a big percentage of shops had Mother’s Day cards on sale.

I normally buy something my mum likes and a bunch of flowers and she doesn’t have to make tea all day. I like to spoil my family when I can, not just when so Mother’s Day isn’t too different from a normal day in my house.
