117 How do you feel about charity work???

Some will hate the word charity. It doesn’t have to be a chore. If you find yourself struggling to give to charity or you don’t want to. You are donating to the wrong charity, I really think that to give or help a charity you have to believe in what they do or have some sort of connection.

When you see someone putting on an event for a charity nine times out of ten, they have experienced one way or another the cause they are raising money for. You have diabetes awareness; most of the people who are spreading the word either have the illness themselves or know someone who does. Not always but a lot of the time they are affected by the illness.

Today I am going to be talking about the North London Hospice. They are possibly the best people I have ever met. A few years ago they looked after someone who meant a lot to me, it was my Grandad they looked after. They understood what is going on and they will pretty much do anything you ask. If you asked for an orange at 5 am, if they had it in the kitchen you could have an orange at 5 am. They did whatever they could to make the last days that little bit easier.

They are an organisation that runs purely on donations. If you look at the quality of care, they provide they have a lot of good reviews and a nice reputation. Everything they have the sofa, the kitchen, everything they have either been donated or they have used the money from donations to buy their furniture. I will link their website at the bottom so you can go and see them along with their Facebook and Twitter.

This Sunday I will be doing a walk with them called the Big Fun Walk… I will try and get some photos of the walk. I believe an actress from a popular TV soap in England called EastEnders will be walking with her family in support of the amazing hospice. They walk is 8.5 miles around London, have a look at the website for more information and to find out what they are all about. I complete the walk with my mum and my sister and this year will be the fourth year in a row.
