This was a different purchase compared to most. I didn’t just go into a shop, look at it, and buy it. I was going to a party with my friend for her birthday. I wasn’t too sure what to do for my make-up as it always changes. So I arranged to have a mini makeover. All you have to do is go into one of the big boots stores and you can ask for an appointment. You go in, they put a bit of makeup on you, and if you like the products you buy them, that’s simple.
I was wearing a black dress so I decided I would go for a smoky kind of dark eye with a bit of silver in it. I also really love silver/glitter shadows. So the lady that did my makeup put two different shadows on my lid. The silver lining is a nice soft grey ish glittery shadow and a darker version with less glitter called Thunder.
I also ended up buying the lip gloss but I’m no longer a big fan of the as it is a very bright pink colour.
I do love the two eye shadows as they aren’t harsh colours, they are a little under pigmented but that isn’t a problem as they are buildable and it makes it easy to go from a day look to a night look which is often something that has to be done quickly so taking your make up of and starting again is totally out of the questions as it would take more time.
I like this shade of grey because you can use it as a lid base colour, or an inner corner highlight, it really depends on the overall look you are going for. You can also use this as a light layer for a bit of colour across your light if you are having a day where you want to wear makeup but you can’t be bothered or you don’t have time to go to town.
These two shades work wonders together, they are pretty much the same but darker or lighter than the other which is good as it means they have the same formula and blend well together. The only thing is you have to be really careful that you don’t over-blend as this could end up with you having a very subtle gradient instead of a c shape shadow.
This shadow is very versatile; you can pretty much do whatever you want to with it.
Blending works, c shape would look very nice, you could do a smokey eye but it probably would need a darker shade on top of it, either a dark navy blue or a matt black.
They are a little pricy but you get a lot of products and you can keep them for a long time which is always good because eye shadow doesn’t disappear very quickly unless they are your staple products.
Overall, I love this product, I would buy it again if it ever runs out this is, and I would recommend this to a friend, or you guys. I would say be careful with blending and perhaps this isn’t one to go in your first makeup kit as they are a little pricy but they are a nice eye shadow to have in your collection.
