2314 A Little Bit Of Everything…

Good Evening, or Morning, depending on where you are in the world. It could even be the afternoon. How is everyone? I hope everyone had a good festive season. For those who celebrate it, I hope you had a LOVELY Christmas. For those who do not celebrate it… I hope you had a lovely restful couple of weeks.

My Christmas did not go to plan this year (does it ever?). It was very unfortunate but on the 20th of December, I tested positive for the Rona and felt absolutely awful. Thankfully it wasn’t a terrible case. I didn’t struggle with my breathing. It mostly just felt like the flu. I had a very high temperature, chills, achy, stuffy nose, headache, sore throat, croaky voice, couldn’t get warm, lost appetite etc. Ya know, the typical symptoms. Luckily, because it is me, mostly everything was organised for Christmas.

I was extremely lucky, that the 25th was the first day I tested negative. So, it didn’t completely ruin Christmas, but it was a lot more chaotic than it would have been.

It was a really nice day. I got to see quite a few of my family. My mum and I made dinner for everyone, and much to my surprise, we did not have a disaster. The meat was yummy, the veg was the right amount, the gravy was good, and I got lots of Yorkshire puddings (that’s my favourite part). The dessert went down well. I didn’t get a picture, but my cousin made a beautiful Christmas log cake, it was amazing. I will see if I can pinch a picture from someone. And I had purchased a caramel cheesecake, profiter rolls, and of course ice cream. Then the toppings were a thick creamy Christmas special custard or simple cream.

Everyone got some nice presents. My nephew had lots of fun opening presents. He is just short of 18 months old. He is a funny little thing. He really loves sweeping. If you stand in his way, he just screams until you move. His mum isn’t a fan, but I find it hilarious.

Although, I wasn’t positive. I wasn’t 100% and I’m still not 100% honestly. I am quite congested so a little deaf (as my ears are blocked), they keep popping it is driving me mad. I also have a cough which seems to come and go. And the last symptom I still have is my throat, it isn’t sore but all of a sudden it will go croaky.

My new year was really quiet. I’ve never been one to go out New Years Eve. I am a bit grumpy in that way. Everything is double the price because it is New Years Eve, it is cold, it’s a nightmare to get home. Give me a takeaway, a nice drink from my fridge and a nice warm evening under a blanket. It’s my happy place ha. With my cats and a warm blanket.

Let me know how your Christmas and new year went.

It’s officially 2023!

Happy New Year Everyone!
