Well, yesterday it was my nephew's 2nd birthday. I can’t believe he is 2! I still remember driving to meet him. It was the first time I had been to my sister's house down on the south coast of England. It was pouring down with rain, and we arrived in the dark, and to top it off, it was the end of my first week at a new job. Exhausting or what? It was possibly the worse conditions to be driving to an unknown area.
There was even one point where there is a left turn and pretty much immediately a right turn, but the satnav wasn’t clear, so I kept missing the turning. In the end, we had to pull over and have a look because we were just driving around in circles and the target kept moving. It was saying destination in 1 mile, then it was in 3 miles, and then it was 5 minutes away. I think it was mostly down to the fact I had no clue where I was going, it was dark, and it was quite small roads, so the satnav wasn’t quick enough to give the next instructions.
When we finally got there, we get to get up the stairs in the dark to the house. And then there he was. This little human, and the little human is my nephew.
Anyway… back to his 2nd birthday. For privacy reasons, I won’t share photos or names here because it’s not fair to the group. I don’t have their permission to use names and I wouldn’t dream of using a picture of a teeny human. What I can tell you is that this little human I call my Nephew got completely spoilt in Paulton’s Park down by the new forest. The home of Peppa Pig. He had ice cream, lollies, hugs, and chocolate, he went on rides, and he met Peppa Pig and the dinosaurs.
It was such a lovely day… very warm. We got nice weather. The only downside is the number of wasps. They must have been jealous of the fun we were having. There were a few times throughout the day when we had to try and escape the wasps. Considering how many people were around, they were quite friendly wasps. I would have thought with so many people they must be getting hit and pushed etc so have the potential to be riled up and angry.
I think by this point I just need to accept that I am a busy person. It seems to be none stopping. Between pets, things breaking, appointments, family to see, and just general life stuff it is rare that I don’t have something planned. But I enjoy it.
I hope all those kiddos are enjoying their summer holidays. Not long now until it will be all about school uniforms and the best pencil case you can find. I am trying really hard to not buy any more stationary this year. I gave bought a couple of notebooks, but they are mostly to replace ones that are either falling apart or are getting close to being finished. I have made a 360-degree turn. I used to prefer ring-bound notebooks but now I think I prefer hard back bound books.
Stay tuned for next week.
